Cruise in France in Southern Burgundy aboard the Ultra Deluxe Hotel-Barge NENUPHAR
SEVEN DAYS / SIX NIGHTS
The 12-passenger Nenuphar resumes cruising for the 2010 season between Dijon and St. Leger-sur-Dheune, near the heart of the famed Cote-d'Or wine growing region on the Canal de Bourgogne and the Canal du Centre. Dijon, the historic capital of Burgundy, and the beautiful wine town of Beaune provide interesting counterpoints to the pastoral countryside. During your cruise you will have an opportunity to walk through the historic center of Dijon, visit the 18th century Chateau of Longecourt and 12th century Castle of Rochepot, the medieval abbey of Clos de Vougeot, and Beaune with its famous Hospice, and enjoy a private winetasting in Santenay.
The Nenuphar was extensively renovated in 2007, introducing upgraded cabins and salon. On the main deck the richly paneled salon, furnished in antique provincial style, adjoins a gracious dining room. Six deluxe king or twin suites, each with private bath, dressing table and excellent storage, occupy the lower level. A fringed awning shades Nenuphar's pleasant, flower-lined sundeck.

Dijon to St. Leger-sur-Dheune
Sunday
From Paris our guide will accompany you on the high speed train, the TGV, to Dijon. You will be met by private coach for the short drive to the Nenuphar's mooring. Welcome reception and dinner on board.
Monday
Make an escorted walking tour of the historic center of Dijon, with the Ducal Palace, Musee des Beaux Arts and elegant shops offering regional specialties. Afternoon cruise to Longecourt-en-Plaine.
Tuesday
Morning visit to the 18th century Chateau of Longecourt, the private residence of the Counts of St. Seine for generations. After a midday cruise, tour the Clos de Vougeot, a medieval abbey surrounded by 12th century vineyards. This is the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose special label is awarded annually to the finest Cote d'Or vintages.
Wednesday
Drive to Beaune, a charming town still protected by its original walls. Tour the famous Hospice de Beaune, a magnificent example of Flemish Gothic architecture, built in 1443. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with time to browse along the cobbled streets later on your own. Cruise to the lively port town of Chalon sur Saone.
Thursday
Morning cruise on the Canal du Centre. After lunch, visit the 12th century Castle of Rochepot, perched on the fairy-tale setting overlooking a quaint village and the lush Morvan landscape. Enjoy a memorable dinner at the Michelin three-star restaurant, Lameloise, in Chagny.
Friday
After a scenic cruise to St. Leger, drive to the wine town of Santenay, famous since Roman times for its thermal springs. Visit the private cellars of a local vintner for a tasting of his fine wines. Return to Nenuphar for a gala Captain's Dinner on board.
Saturday
After breakfast, our guide escorts you via the TGV back to our meeting point in Paris.
Note: Alternate cruise weeks will be in the reverse direction. Actual itineraries can vary, depending on the preferences of guests and the captain's discretion. Water levels, waterway traffic, and maintenance of canals and locks all have a direct effect on canal and river cruising. For this reason, all routes are subject to change.
