Passenger Comments:
Enchante was super - the crew was great, food was wonderful and it was relaxing, there was plenty to do, never boring. Top of the line service! Cabin accommodations are super-large and well laid out. Meals and wines were the best I've ever had, the cheeses were wonderful too.
Bill T., California June 2011
What a sensational week we just spent on Enchante cruising the Canal de Midi, it was wonderful. The barge was comfortable, the food sensational, the staff friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgeable and this was all topped off by perfect weather. The sightseeing excursions were well organized and interesting.... it was truly a memorable experience! Our cabin accommodations were excellent, the rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and very comfortable indeed. Perfect meals, they were delicious, as were the wines which were well chosen to complement each dish. We were very impressed with Louisa the barge owner. We all found her professional and caring attitude set the mood for a very memorable week. Thank you!
Kathy & Malcolm R., Australia May 2011
The trip not only met but exceeded our expectations! The Enchante is an incredible barge and the staff is top drawer. Louisa (an owner) did an incredible job as tour director - what a gracious lady. Chris, the chef, prepared fantastic meals and was gregarious, inviting and made our dining experience fun! One of our party spent hours with him in the galley preparing meals - a highlight for her. The hostess, Amanda, was well versed in the local wines and cheeses and did a wonderful job of attending to our needs. Captain Phillipe was quite entertaining. Cabin accommodations were wonderful, meticulous and more spacious than expected. Service was the BEST. The crew made us feel like part of the family and I felt as if I were a guest in their home.
Kathie and Glyn L., Michigan September 2011
Louisa was the best tour guide I ever experienced and we have traveled extensively around Europe.
-- B.F., California, USA, May 2010
The barge was beautifully designed and decorated, the crew were wonderful and the food and wine pairings were superb. The crew went above and beyond the norm to be helpful. They were delightful friendly people. We particularly enjoyed the excursions to Minerve and Carcassonne under Ed's excellent guidance.
-- R.S., England, September 2010
What a fantastic experience! Roger and his crew went out of their way to do everything possible for us. The cuisine was wonderful, the tours exciting and the hospitality superb. Cabin accommodations were excellent and more spacious than we anticipated, our hostess kept things immaculate. We were truly pampered for the whole week. This cruise far exceeded our expectations.
-- Sarah & John, California, June 2010
Enchante was our first barge trip and we absolutely loved it. We so enjoyed the comforts of the entire boat, including the bedrooms, the main cabin and the deck. The crew was just exceptional. You can't find nicer, friendlier, or better qualified people than Louisa, Roger, Peter and Kate, they were a joy to be with. We not only thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the Canal du Midi, but also the crews' knowledge of the history of the canal and the area. Our high points was cruising down the Canal du Midi on a beautiful, warm day with stunning views of the countryside and small villages with six other friends.
-- L. & G. A., Colorado, May 2010
Fabulous. Beautiful, relaxing, fun. The cabins were really nice size and nicely decorated. Exceeded our expectations. The service was outstanding. Everyone was so accomodating and warm and helpful. We felt right at home and yet, very pampered. Every meal was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
The excursions were fun and very informative. I think there was a good balance between the excursions and the cruising. Loved the canal -- it's so peaceful and you see parts of the country that you probably would never visit.
Louisa and Roger were the nicest, most wonderful couple and made everything about the cruise so enjoyable. The barge is beautiful and very comfortable and the canal was such a lovely setting in which to relax. Although I suggest including more salads and vegetables, the food was all really delicious including the fabulous wines.
We looked into many other barges and I feel we absolutely chose the most beautiful and special barge. After our experience, we would highly recommend the Enchante without reservation. It is a very special experience.
